In His incarnation, Jesus was fully (100%) God and fully (100%) man (Matt. 1:18-23; Lk.
1:26-38; 2:4-14; Phil. 2:6-8; 1 Tim. 3:15-16). Paul writes in verse Six of Philippians
Chapter Two saying; “…Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of
God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this
equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained …” (Phil. 2:5-8 v. 6 AMP).
Jesus was according to Phil. 2:6, therefore, not just "like" God (the Father) (homoiousion), but
was the same essence or form “in likeness” as God (the Father) (homoousios). He, however,
chose not to use His essential attributes directly, but depended on the Father (Jn. 8:16, 28, 29)
and the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:1-3; Heb. 9:14) to perfectly and obediently fulfill His earthly
mission (Lk. 4:18-21; Heb. 5:5-9; 10:5-10). This was possible through the miracle of the Virgin
Birth at the divinely appointed time and by a virgin (woman) (Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Gal. 4:4-6)
to fulfill the eternal drama of God’s love through Christ (Gen. 3:15; Jn. 3:14-18; Rev. 13:8).
